‘I always tell the truth sometimes’ is a book of short stories that will certainly bring a smile to your face. It contains over 200 photographs, over 70 stories and many pieces of historical information relating to Cabra West. It is based on the life experiences of a 10 year old boy growing up in Cabra West, a young boy who is the middle child in a family of 15 children. Did I ever make up lies in Confession? Of course I did, as did many of my school friends, it was part of our culture.
‘One day I was asking the Priest why he had to wear all them robes and things with the names I couldn’t remember and I asked him was that Holy Water he was drinking out of the little bottle he kept hidden at the back of the press in the Presbytery.
